Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)

At James Dixon, we strive to create a sense of community and belonging for all our pupils. We have an inclusive ethos with high expectations and aspirational yet achievable targets ensuring that we enable all children to achieve their full potential in all areas of their personal development.

SEND at James Dixon is about equal opportunity for all members of our school community. We are a reflective school, continually adapting our practice in order to meet the needs of our pupils, parents, staff and community members. All our children should play a positive role in society where diversity is recognised, respected and celebrated. We believe that every person should be valued equally and should have the same opportunity to reach his or her potential.

We work alongside the Local Authority, health professionals and community organisations to find the most appropriate and effective support for pupils in our school.

The documents within this webpage will give you more information in relation to SEND and how school and home can support children. If you have any concerns or wish to discuss SEND at our school please do not hesitate to contact me:
